Election Day

I've noticed a theme as I've looked through old blog posts and that is that I tend to get a little nervous around election time. I was almost certain that Mitt Romney would win the last one. When Obama won, I had that weird impending doom feeling like I did after 9/11.

This time around it's between Hillary Clinton (UGH!) and Donald Trump. I voted for Trump. He's no walk in the park, but he represents way more values I hold dear than does Hillary. Somehow, I'm fearful she's going to win. Why this is extra scary to me is that she can put more left leaning people on the Supreme Court and I think that can change a lot of wonderful things about our Constitution and country. I'm quite worried that at the end of the day, she may be our future President.

Be that as it may, one thing I've been reminded of is Heavenly Father is in charge. His purposes will roll forth. I find great comfort in the fact that one day, Jesus Christ will reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords and all will be right with the world.

Regardless of who wins, my friends will still be my friends, I will still be related to people I love and am grateful to call family, and I will still live in the best land in the world. After spending time outside of this amazing country, I don't want to take for granted freedoms we enjoy that we may not even realize. In China, YouTube, Facebook, and Google are blocked. Unless you have a VPN (internet access through a different country) you can't even see these sites! You can't speak of your religion to others or even invite them to your Church!

We truly are so blessed and I will continue to pray for this great nation. I pray people will not forget Heavenly Father and our Savior.  I pray He can be present in more hearts, and I pray that those who are His disciples will lift where they stand and strive to build up His Kingdom, so that it is ready when He comes to reign!

God Bless the USA!
